#1 What sparked your interest in digital marketing and technology, leading you to become a consultant in these fields?
Digital marketing and technology are always changing. To be good at it, we have to keep learning every day. What got me interested in these areas and led me to be a consultant? Well, it’s the constant changes and how they affect our lives. I saw how much these things impact businesses and people, and that made me want to understand and help others navigate this ever-changing world. The challenge excites me—to keep learning and use that knowledge to make a real difference at the crossroads of technology and marketing.
#2 In your role as a Digital Marketing Consultant, how do you leverage technology to empower individuals and organisations to achieve their goals?
We handle technology to make things better, and you don’t have to be a pro in every new tech thing. We turn them into tools that help our business run smoother. So, as a Digital Marketing Consultant, how do I use tech to help people and companies reach their goals?
Well, I use it to make things easier and more effective for them. Whether it’s finding new ways to reach customers or making processes simpler, I use tech to help them get where they want to be.
#3 Having experience from start-ups to corporate culture, how do you see the role of technology evolving in these different environments?
Today, technology isn’t just about tools and media that make things bigger; it’s a way of life that shapes how we see things. So, considering my experience in both start-ups and big companies, how do I see technology changing in these different settings?
Well, in start-ups, it often drives innovation and growth, shaping their core from the get-go. In bigger corporations, it’s about adapting and using tech to streamline operations and connect with a broader audience. Regardless of size, technology’s role is evolving to become more integrated into everyday functions, shaping how we work, interact, and bring ideas to life.
#4 What challenges have you faced in your career, and how did you overcome them to achieve success in the tech industry?
The toughest part of advancing in a career often stems from differences in thinking, but using a mentorship approach (where you learn from great leaders and become a strong learner yourself) can bridge that gap. Reflecting on challenges in my tech career, overcoming them was key to success.
I encountered hurdles like adapting to new tech rapidly and navigating complex projects. Embracing mentorship helped immensely—learning from experienced individuals broadened my perspective and equipped me with insights to tackle these challenges head-on. It wasn’t just about having a great leader but also being open to learning, which allowed me to grow, adapt, and succeed in the dynamic tech industry.
#5 How important is mentorship in your career, and have you had any influential mentors who guided you along the way?
I’ve been fortunate to have a fantastic leader who evolved into a true partner. Together, we efficiently split responsibilities and consistently back each other up, focusing on roles that embody a growth mindset and a knack for solving problems.
Reflecting on my career, mentorship has been pivotal. Having a mentor like my partner has been immensely influential, guiding me through challenges, expanding my skills, and instilling a mindset that continuously seeks growth and solutions. Their guidance and support have been instrumental in shaping my professional journey.
#6 What advice would you give to women aspiring to pursue a career in technology, especially in roles that intersect with digital marketing?
Never underestimate yourself; you’re a crucial pillar in society. You’ve been given logic and a compassionate mindset—use them wisely. To women aiming for a career in technology, particularly in digital marketing, my advice is to believe in yourself.
Embrace your unique perspective and skills; they’re invaluable in this field. Seek mentors and peers who support and encourage you.
Be persistent, learn continuously, and don’t be afraid to voice your ideas. Your presence in tech and digital marketing is not just important but essential, so trust in your abilities and pave your
#7 From your perspective, what emerging technology trends do you believe will significantly impact the digital marketing landscape?
As a co-founder of the Digital Nomadic Society, I foresee a profound shift in society towards embracing a new kind of social life, transforming into global nomadic members exploring the world. Now, considering the evolving landscape, emerging technology trends are set to revolutionise digital marketing.
From my perspective, several trends will make a significant impact. Personalization driven by AI and machine learning will refine targeting strategies, while immersive technologies like AR and VR will reshape customer experiences.
Additionally, the rise of voice search, the Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain technology will redefine how brands connect, engage, and build trust with their audiences. These advancements are poised to fundamentally alter the digital marketing landscape, requiring adaptive strategies to harness their potential effectively.
#8 How do you balance work and life, particularly in a fast-paced field like tech?
Growing your community and keeping learning consistently 30 minutes a day helps a lot. Balancing work and life in a fast-paced tech field means setting clear boundaries and priorities. I make a schedule that gives time to both work and personal stuff. I stick to work hours, share tasks when needed, and make sure to have time for hobbies and family.
Managing time well and staying committed to learning keeps a good balance between work and personal life in the speedy tech world.
#9 Whom would you like to thank and appreciate for helping build up your career?
I owe a huge thanks to Monika Tanu, my leader and partner in my career journey. Monika’s leadership and partnership have been invaluable, shaping my professional growth and supporting me every step of the way.
And to Phillipus Ang, my husband, has been not only a life partner but also an incredible educator, constantly inspiring and guiding me through various aspects of life and learning.
